Dan + Shay’s Dan Smyers Is Married!

Congratulations to Dan Smyers! The country singer, one-half of the duo Dan + Shay, married his fiancee, Abby Regulation, on Saturday (May 13).

A rep for Smyers and Law tells People that the couple got married in Nashville, in the evening. The couple's two dogs, Main person and Joy, were part of the wedding party.

“The wedding is going to be very representative of the both of us,” Smyers told People prior to their big afternoon. “It’ll be awesome to have all of our friends and family together in Nashville ... We built our love story in Nashville, and it’ll be cool to find everybody there to observe where it all began for us.”

Smyers proposed to Law in mid-November while they were on vacation in Hawaii. Smyers tells People that "by the time we got engaged, we were so familiar with each other that there wasn’t anything foreign or scary.”

Who are Dan and Shay married to?

Dan is married to Abby Smyers (nee Law), who he dated for more than three years before Dan proposed to Abby in November 2016. The two got married the following May and celebrated their fifth anniversary this year.

For the couple, the time between the engagement and the wedding six months later did feel rushed at all.

"Everybody’s story is different, everybody’s timeline is different," Dan told People. "By the time we got engaged, we were so familiar with each other that there wasn’t anything foreign or scary."

Shay Mooney, announced his own engagement to his longtime girlfriend and former Miss Arkansas Hannah Billingsley in August of 2016 and the couple married on October 20, 2017. The delighted couple welcomed their son, Asher, into the earth in 2017. As of November 30, 2024, country melody artist Shay Mooney and his wife, Hannah Billingsley, have three sons and are expecting their fourth child. Their children are:

Asher James Mooney: Born on January 24, 2017, Asher is currently 7 years old.

^^^ Quite frankly, I can name a lengthy list of homos for tangentially related categories tied to country music.

But Brand-new Country is harder for gay men to crack into than trannies and dykes. Most end up going too far into the new and no longer play country., They really don't have a solid audience either. Most gay men aren't interested and the LGBT nation audience was predominately born female - so, there's a lot of "eww, boys" .. which leaves them a handful of fraus that want to hear fujoshi spank bank material. so, the the talentless end up in pop while the educated tend to move to bluegrass and other genres but often regulated to just part of the ensemble..
