Gay ikea couches

Recently, Ikea debuted their Parade collection, which was a series of artistically decorated couches decorated to stand for various queer identities! That is&#; nice, I guess? Why has this year&#;s pride felt even more corporate and straight than every other year when it&#;s extremely corporate and straight?

Anyway, we had a lot to unpack here. I do want to note that our jokes are centered around the couches themselves and not anyone&#;s identities, and that as a goth older sister I legally reserve the right to build jokes about the siblings of goth sisters.

Stef: Has everyone, uh, seen these?

terrifying bisexual couch aside, I appreciate that the woman loving woman one looks inspired by flamingos and urine

Nicole: I was gonna say
I don&#;t think i can deal with a couch covered in hands telling me &#;nobody believes you&#;

Shelli: What is going on with the asexual couch my god

Rachel: I loved the progress couch&#;s function in Annihilation

Stef: I ponder the asexual couch is kinda cute? like a geode? but hideous?

Tracy: The progress one creeps me out. Like that couch would have to be in a really damp environment to start to grow plants.

People Are Terrified Of The Cursed IKEA Bisexual Couch That&#;s Covered In Hands

In honour of Pride Month, as all corporations undertake , Ikea Canada proved they&#;re not homophobic in their own way&#; by creating a bunch of couches inspired by the other LGBTIQ flags.

The &#;Love Seats&#; collection is a one-of-a-kind set of 10 loveseat covers &#;inspired by the colours of different Event flags&#; and includes the transgender, pansexual, bisexual, female homosexual, nonbinary, genderfluid, asexual, progress, and two-spirit flags.

Collaborating with four different designers from the LGBTIQ community for the project, Love Seats is said to be &#;a platform to observe identity and share stories of love&#; because &#;there&#;s more to Pride than a rainbow&#;.

While not accessible to purchase, the seats will be displayed at different IKEA locations across Canada over the next few months. And honestly, for the most part, the end result looks pretty damn cool.

I declare for the most part because if you glance close enough you might be able to spot one horrific standout couch: The bisexual couch.

Ikea has innovated for almost 80 years in the world of furniture, providing flatpacks to the masses. In honor of Self-acceptance, Ikea Canada has released 10 limited edition designs of loveseat.

While many include proved popular, one in particular has received backlash from buyers.

Why Ikea's Multi-attracted Pride Loveseat is Facing Backlash

The Bisexual Loveseat was designed by Charlotte Carbone, and included words from a poem by Brian Lanigan.

On the loveseat were colors of the attracted to both genders flag, with pink, purple and blue handprints added all over the couch.

The words written over the back cushions read: "When you change 'or' to 'and,' nobody believes you."

According to comments from Lanigan, this refers to a comment made to him by an ex, who could not understand his bisexuality.

Since the launch of the loveseats on June 24, there has been a backlash to this sofa.

One Twitter user began a thread that gained some traction online.

@jenny2x4 wrote: "Biphobia does exist and it's this chair specifically."

After other users pointed out the poet is also bisexual, and explained the meaning, the user added: "Ok at least I get it. I represent it should have stayed in his high educational facility diary but at least I

'How are you going to sit on it?' IKEA unveils quirky Pride-themed couches inspired by different Diverse identities - and leaves social media in a frenzy with the VERY unique designs

As Pride Month winds down, IKEA Canada has unveiled a series of couches — specifically, 'Love Seats' — that celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

Each of the one-of-a-kind couches features a slipcover inspired by different Pride flags, from the transgender flag to the pansexual flag to the lesbian flag, and while they won't be available to purchase, customers can see them touring stores in Canada starting this month.

The very whimsical seats were each created by artists active in the community, and they've already earned quite a bit of attention on social media — and though the internet seems to be divided in view, many fans are begging IKEA to make some of them available for purchase.

It comes weeks after IKEA bowed to an online mob of woke activists and suspended advertising with new British TV channel GB News because it didn't fit with its 'humanistic values'.
