Marvel Confirms Spider-Man's Ally Ebony Cat is Bisexual
This article contains spoilers for Black Cat #5
Marvel has confirmed Spider-Man's ally, and sometime lover, Black Cat is actually bisexual. Spider-Man's rogues' gallery is one of the best in comics, second only to Batman. One of the more interesting characters is Felicia Hardy, aka the Black Cat, a sneak thief who's sometimes a thorn in the wall-crawler's side and at other times is his finest ally and even lover.
Many fans have long speculated that Black Cat is actually bisexual. In the MC2 universe of Spider-Girl, Felicia married Flash Thompson and had two children with him before they divorced, and she began a romantic relationship with a female colleague; that particular timeline seemed firmly linked to the mainstream one until "One More Day," meaning most readers assumed this was a subtle way for Marvel to suggest she's double attraction. One line of dialogue in the Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do miniseries appeared to confirm this, but it was swiftly forgotten. But the last Black Cat operate seemed to be finally developing this idea, introducing an old "friend" of Felicia's called Tamara Blake with whom Fel
Spider-Man’s Black Cat Is An Underappreciated Queer Icon
While comics have long represented the leading edge of pop-culture commentary, they haven't held back when it comes to politics, either. Although big-name publishers have produced some memorable stories advocating for civil rights, it's surprising that after all this time, Marvel's biggest bi-icon has never really gotten the recognition she deserves. Or rather, it would be surprising if any of Black Cat's romances with anyone who isn't Spider-Man lasted distant enough to truly matter.
Ever since Felica Hardy's introduction in the pages of 1979's Amazing Spider-Man #194 (by Marv Wolfman and Keith Pollard), Black Meower has largely been defined by her relationship with the Wall-Crawler. Their will-they-won't-they romance was always overshadowed by their existence on opposing ends of the hero-villain spectrum, yet enjoy Batman and Catwoman before them, Spider-Man and Shadowy Cat's relationship let them blur those lines. In fact, Black Cat's first encounters with Spider-Man always made her feel appreciate a troubled antihero. She was a thief, of course, but her perceptible loyalty to Spider-Man and th
Spider-Man 2 Confirms Insomniac's Shadowy Cat Is Bisexual
Spider-Man fans who are avid readers of the comics will probably already know that Black Cat, the web-slinger's ally and occasional adore interest, was confirmed to be bisexual a prolonged time ago. It was hinted at even longer ago that Black Kitten was bisexual, but it was made explicitly obvious in the comic Ebony Cat #7 that released in 2021, after she locked lips with Thieves Guild leader Odessa Drake.
Black Cat has also been a big part of Insomniac's run of Spider-Man games, featuring in a DLC expansion in the first game, while having a more prominent role in the recently released Spider-Man 2. Seeing as Insomniac's version of Shadowy Cat is technically a new character in a different universe, it was unconfirmed as to whether the developer had given her the same sexuality as her comic novel counterpart. Thankfully, it seems like it has.
Spider-Man 2's Opening Is Everything The Comics Have Been Missing
Spider-Man's comics possess been awful for a while now, but the opening of Spider-Man 2 alone shows a route forward for 616 Peter.
We'll keep it flash on the details to avoid spoilers, but part ways through Spi
Queerness Is Everywhere In Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man 2 is fruity. Insomniac Games featured a smattering of pride flags throughout the first game’s vision of Manhattan, but aside from that, kept things pretty straight. The sequel, meanwhile, is filled with distinct LGBTQ+ inclusion everywhere you look, from walls of street art to smaller side quests Peter and Miles can take on to support the local communities.
Peter and Harry might be unbent besties (you’ll never halt me from shipping them), but major side characters express their queerness in ways that not only prove surprising, but tie into canon elements of recent big comic developments that even hardcore fans weren’t expecting to be acknowledged.
Starfield Killed My Hype For The Elder Scrolls 6
After Starfield, I'm not sure I care about The Elder Scrolls 6 anymore.
Take Black Cat, who instead of jumping between former hideouts to tease Peter in the lead up to a heist, is playing around with Surgeon Strange’s belongings to expose a portal to Paris to reach her girlfriend. We know she once had a thing with Peter, and this story development confirms her bisexuality with a casual adm
