Unfortunately the Dead Kennedys’ Facebook page has recently been invaded by a small group of Jello Biafra followers (and imitation accounts) posting false communication about Klaus Flouride, D. H. Peligro and myself. Needless to say, it feels really awful when people spread lies about you. So to allow folks know what actually happened, here again is what our lead singer did to us.

Jello Biafra is a very talented person, we collaborated on great music together and he is exceptionally outspoken, but talent and outspokenness do not indicate traits. To put it simply, he betrayed Klaus, D. H. and myself, and what Dead Kennedys withstand for-- behind our backs he stole song writing credit and skimmed royalties from us, not the other way around.

Not sure about this. I can't find a lot he's said on the topic but he has criticised homophobia in others.[1][2] Alternative Tentacles, the record label he ran, had some queercore bands like Pansy Division. There have been a few controversialist actual gays who opposed queer marriage (I can visualize Biafra might be antagonistic to marriage in general), and some surprising people seem to be transphobic these days. Getting my head around writing this very article has not been easy. Consent me put it this way: how does one write about a band that existed 20-odd years ago and yet never properly released any recordings in their lifetime? Should anyone care about such a band? I swear, I'm not simply trying to be esoteric in writing this piece, because in my book the Screamers were a team that counted. You may have never heard their music, though you've probably seen their logo (the Gary Panter screaming confront that's since been used on numerous t-shirts and posters for various organizations and groups), though if you're lucky enough to have ever heard one of their bootlegs floating around the dusty log bins of this world, or if you're even luckier enough to hold witnessed them live in their lifespan, then you'll likely similarly attest that they're not only a band that mattered, but they were one of the BEST. So, who in the goddamn hell am I talking about?
