Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Is Just Medieval Brokeback Mountain
Queer people have existed for millenia. You might behave like the woke mob has only managed to bring them into being over the past decade or so, but that simply isn’t true. Our stories have been told throughout history, even if at times we had to hide away in the shadows. Now though, there is less reason to feel ashamed, and more opportunities to harbour pride in who we are, and those who came before. As a queer trans woman who critiques video games, animation, and many other veins of popular culture for a living, that inevitably blends into my active life.
So when I act a game for review, preview, or just for general coverage, if something slightly fruity pops up, my eyebrows raise in curiosity. This is precisely what happened when I sat down to perform Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 in Prague for a few hours last month. I immediately read the relationship between protagonist Henry and his lord Hans as more than meets the eye.
They begin the game as good friends who find themselves thrust into an awkward productive relationship. Henry is a caring squire who wants to approach every situation with level-headed reason wh
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 developer Warhorse Studios has responded to controversy surrounding the game involving LGBTQ scenes in the RPG. The start of the controversy begins in Saudi Arabia, where it is existence reported by VGA4A that the highly anticipated RPG has been banned from release “due to unskippable gay scenes.” These reports then prompted inquiries from some — fueled by the ongoing culture war in gaming — about these scenes. And then the controversy grew from here with accusations that Warhorse Studios began to crack down on the backlash and feedback with forum bans and a new code of behavior. All of this prompted Daniel Vavra — the co-founder of Warhorse Studios and the resourceful director on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 — to issue a statement on the matter. The utterance doesn’t address the scenes in question, not directly at least, nor the extra controversy involving the forum bans and modern code of conduct, but tackles it from a more zoomed out perspective.
“Turns out that we are
The highly anticipated action RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is gearing up to release on February 4, and its early positive reviews have generated quite a lot of buzz in the community. Fans around the world are looking forward to getting immersed in its detailed medieval world.
However, recent rumors suggest that players in Saudi Arabia may not be able to join in on the action. Reports claim that the game could tackle a ban in the country due to a supposed unskippable gay s*x scene. This rumor has sparked a heated debate about censorship and hypocrisy on various social media platforms.
Saudi Arabian gamers might be missing out on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
According to a Twitter publish from the Arabic gaming news outlet VGA4A, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 might face a ban in Saudi Arabia because of a controversial and supposedly unskippable cutscene that features a gay s*x scene.
The scene, which is reportedly graphic and unskippable, has raised concerns with Saudi authorities, who strictly regulate content coming into its country. The root claims that Warhorse Studios refused to change the game to meet the country’s content guidelines, primary to the possibil
Given the developers’ approach and how such relationships were viewed during that historical period, it’s highly unlikely that the sequel will be 'celebrating' any gay stuff.
