Deadpool Settles His Canon Sexuality with Way More Communication Than We Wanted to Know
WARNING: Contains Potential Spoilers for Deadpool / Wolverine #2!
Wolverine has straight-up asked Deadpool if he’s direct, finally putting Wade Wilson’s canon sexuality to linger . But in true Deadpool fashion, his answer delivers way more information than anyone asked for—raising even more questions about his tastes. Still, one thing’s for sure: the debate over the Merc with a Mouth’s sexuality is officially over.
Wolverine yells out mid-battle, “Wade!? Are you straight?”
Deadpool’s sexuality is often described by fans as pansexual or omnisexual, with several of his writers confirming that Wade is“not straight." However, his sexuality has long been a hot topic of debate, as it’s rarely stated outright in the comics.
The discussion grew even murkier with Ryan Reynolds’ live-action portrayal, sparking questions about whether the films carried over Wade’s comic guide sexuality. But now, Marvel has finally settled the sexuality debate, with fans getting an answer vertical from Deadpool himself in Deadpool / Wolverine #2 (2025) by Benjamin Percy, Joshua Cassara, and Guru-eFX.

YYou know, if you happen to scan the dialogue very carefully, Deadpool makes a jab at Iceman for staring at his legs. Quite recently though, Iceman was revealed to actually be gay. The young mutant had compartmentalized his sexuality because he couldn't deal with being both a mutant and gay. Now I can't help but wonder if Deadpool happened to pick up on this.I mean you can't blame Wilson, it's Spiderman for crying out clamorous . If you happen to team up with a perverted omnisexual and you're wearing spandex, do watch out.The two of them happened to make a brief stint as partners for what can only be assumed was marketing gold, and now the pair are stuck together. Even the internet seems to think so.Admit it. You've probably thought about it at least once. If you haven't inferred what I mean, I obviously mean buying a Chimichanga for the Deadpool premiere. What did you think I was talking about? You perverts.
However, the biggest pervert of all is none other than the Mercenary-Who-Talks-Too-Much (I felt a slightly altered title would be more unique than his other nicknames), Deadpool. Unlike hi

MARVEL AND ITS HISTORY OF IDENTITY POLITICS
For the longest of day, marginalised groups have been trying to represent their voice in culture and media. Not many people realise comic books are political in nature. Under all the crime fighting and science fiction, Marvel has been contributing to social justice by acting for their title characters as members of marginalised communities. Jack Kirby (1917-1994) was a second-generation American Jewish creator who published a comic book with the cover of Captain America punching Adolf Hitler in 1941, although it is hard to say that this is the first instance of Marvel characterizing the voice of a socially oppressed community, it is the most iconic example.

Deadpool's Newest Love Interest Is A Major Step Forward For Queer Representation
The following contains spoilers from Deadpool #3, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
The foul-mouth mercenary Deadpool is mostly known for his constant wit and fourth wall breaks. He has found success in his violent ventures, but the same can not be said for his forays into romance. Deadpool has certainly had his moments, but it has only led to heartbreak and an endless list of ex-wives. However, his newest venture may give him another shot at factual love.
In the current manage of his self-titled series, Wade was introduced to the dreamy Valentine Vuong, a non-binary assassin. Deadpool meets them when he is given 48 hours to assassinate Otto Octavius, and he's immediately infatuated. In fact, he seems to only take the assignment just to receive Valentine's number, and he eventually grows closer with them - even if it meant passing out from blood loss in their apartment.
